7. Playwriting/Playreading Opportunity:
Spark Reading Series is a new play reading series based in Terre Haute, Indiana. The readings will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month. One of the main ideas behind Spark is the strengthening of the community, of bringing theatre to the community, rather than making the community come to the theater. Therefore, Spark will occur at a different Terre Haute location every month: businesses, museums, etc. Playwrights are encouraged to send all styles of play (10 minute to full length, musical to straight drama, one person to multi-cast) to Spark at sparksubs@gmail.com. Spark hopes that everyone, from the audience to the playwright to the readers, will work together to make this community a possibility. Spark also offers to strengthen the community’s voice through both commission and educational opportunities.
