Thoroughly Modern Millie

Opening August 9 is the Tony-Award winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. It is 1922 - young Millie Dillmont comes to New York City determined to marry for money and NOT for love. She adopts the "flapper" life style and meets many non-typical New Yorkers along the way. Based on the 1967 film starring Julie Andrews, but with a new book and score, Thoroughly Modern Millie won the Tony for Best Musical in 2002. Its book is by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlon. Music is by Janine Tesori and lyrics are by Scanlon.
